About the Speakers
Pamela K. Sayre, CG, CGL, director
of education and publications for National Genealogical Society (NGS),
is coordinator for Samford’s Techniques and Technology course, a
former board member of NGS and the Federation of Genealogical
Societies, and vice president of the APG National Capital Area
chapter. She is co-author of Online
Roots: How to Discover Your Family's History and Heritage with the
Power of the Internet (Nashville,
Tenn.: Rutledge Hill Press, 2003) and Research
in Missouri (Washington,
D.C.: NGS, 1999, 2007). She penned the FGS Forum's Digitools column
for five years and is past editor of the Association of Professional
Genealogists Quarterly. Pam taught genealogy classes for several
years at St. Louis Community College, and she has spoken at
genealogy conferences and seminars in twenty-nine
states. Earlier in her career, Pam was
a software documentation specialist and trainer, a personnel
administrator, and a police detective.

Richard G. "Rick" Sayre, CG,
is a longtime
genealogical researcher, lecturer and writer. His areas of research
interest include urban research methodology, technology and mapping
tools for genealogists,
military records, immigration, the Ohio River Valley, and Western
Pennsylvania. Rick is the coordinator for the Land Records: Using Maps
course at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at
Samford University (IGHR). He has also lectured at IGHR in the
Advanced Methodology, Advanced Military, Research in the South,
Techniques and Technology, and Land courses. Rick speaks frequently at
national conferences (NGS and FGS). He has completed the NGS Home
Study Course, NIGR, the Immigration Track of the Salt Lake Institute
of Genealogy, and the Advanced Track of IGHR. He is member of NGS and
numerous genealogical societies and a member of the Virginia
Genealogical Society board.

David A. Farris, FFTT
Banquet guest speaker and native Oklahoman, is the author of three
books about Oklahoma. Since the early 1990’s, David has collected
tales about Oklahoma outlaws and the state’s spooky past. His books,

Mysterious Oklahoma, and More
Mysterious Oklahoma are
consistently on Border’s top 10 local best sellers list.
Featured speaker at varied events from the Red Dirt Book Festival
to the International UFO Museum at Roswell, NM, David was a finalist
on Jay Leno’s Comedy
Challenge and also
appeared on Search for the
Funniest Person in Oklahoma.
