His tombstone says he died in 1928 his name is on a deed in 1932, did a dead man sign a deed? When given conflicting evidence how do you resolve the issue at hand? This lecture will look at the five-point formula of the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS) and how it helps resolve conflicting evidence with a fascinating case study.

A Fund for the Future of the Oklahoma Genealogical Society

During the course of the pandemic, OGS was humbled to receive many donations that helped with our day-to-day operations. In August 2021, an anonymous donor came forward with a $12,500 donation to OGS with the expressed desire to establish a stable source of income in the form of an endowment. OGS is so thankful for their foresight and faith in our future.

In early Fall 2021,  the OGS board voted to enter into an endowment with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. Click on these links for more information:
How do I give a gift to the Oklahoma Genealogical Society Endowment Fund?
We are also pleased to announce that OGS is a grateful recipient of the Kirkpatrick Family Fund Matching Program of $15,000. This means if OGS is successful in raising $25,000 by November 1st ,we will receive an additional $15,000 from the Kirkpatrick Fund.

If you have additional questions, please let us know at president@okgensoc.org or call 405-637-1907. You are also welcome to speak directly to our friend Jennifer Meckling with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation at j.meckling@occf.org or 405-606-2951.
